I Edition Carnival Ambassadors

Miguelturra already has its first Carnival ambassadors

The Association for the Development of Campo de Calatrava, Javier Ruiz and Serafín Delgado, first ambassadors of the Carnival of Miguelturra.

On Tuesday 21st February, in the exhibition hall of the CERE and in the presence of the Mayoress of the town, Laura Arriaga, the Councillor for Festivities, Diego Rodríguez and the President of the Asociación Cultural Peñas del Carnaval, Raúl Domínguez, the first ambassadors of the Carnival of Miguelturra, received the Alhiguí de Honor, a distinction that until now was only awarded to the winning group of the Piñata Sunday parade.

Gema García Ríos, representing the Association for the Development of Campo de Calatrava, received the National Alhiguí of Honour, for being one of the institutions that gave the greatest support to Miguelturra in order to obtain the declaration of the Carnival as a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

Javier Ruiz, Head of News at Onda Cero in Castilla-La Mancha, received the Regional Alhiguí of Honour, for his year after year support to our most emblematic festival from the radio waves.

Serafín Delgado, our Carnival King, has received the Local Alhiguí of Honour, for the dedication of a lifetime to his Carnival, to the Carnival of Miguelturra.
