Presentation of the Carnival of Miguelturra in FITUR 2019

At around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 25, the Miguelturra Carnival was presented at the 2019 International Tourism Fair.

The mayor of the town, Victoria Sobrino, expressed her satisfaction at presenting our Carnival as a Festival of National Tourist Interest, highlighting the Street Mask as the most representative figure of the festival.

Sobrino also reviewed the various events that will take place during the upcoming 2019 Carnival, including the Opening Speech, Burial of the Sardine, Carnival Museum Costumes, Chirigotas, and the Parade of Murgas, Comparsas, and Floats.

He also referred to the MOMO Carnival Museum, one of the few museums in the world dedicated exclusively to Carnival.

The mayor of Miguelturra City Council concluded her speech with the most famous phrase of our carnivals: “I bet you don’t know me.”

The event was attended by a large group of people representing the town’s Peñas, the Councilor for Festivities, Diego Rodríguez, various members of the Municipal Corporation, Carnival King, Serafín Delgado, President of the Miguelturra Carnival Association, Raúl Domínguez, 2019 Senior Masks, Antonio and Mª Paz, 2018 Senior Masks, Orestes and Mª del Carmen, as well as our Street Mask.
