Monday of Masks and carnival sweets

The frying pan fruit contest and the street mask, the most important events on Carnival Monday

At 12:30 p.m. the XXXVII Frying Pan Fruit Contest began at the CERE facilities, with the presence of the Mayor of Miguelturra, Laura Arriaga, Councilor for Celebrations, Diego Rodríguez, members of the Municipal Corporation,  major masks 2019, Antonio Rodrigo and Mª Paz del Hierro and major masks 2020, Manuel González and Mª Carmen Céspedes 

La Peña los Rocheros, have been the organizers of the event and Octavio Martín has prepared the lemon, which as always is exquisite. The SER channel broadcast live during the celebration of the act.

Barquillos Modality

Borrachuelas  Modality

  • 1st Prize, Santiago Fernández Pérez
  • 2nd Prize, Gonzalo Hidalgo Mansilla

Flores Modality

  • 1st Prize, Francisca Ramírez Rodrigo
  • 2nd Prize, Mª Mercedes Lozano López

Roscapiña Modality

  • 1st Prize, Rita Gómez Ramírez
  • 2nd Prize, Julia Montarroso Torres

Rosquillas Modality

  • 1st Prize, Francisca Ramírez Rodrigo
  • 2nd Prize, Manuel Yébenes González

The first prizes have been sponsored by the City Council of Miguelturra consisting of 60 euros each, the second prizes 40 euros sponsored by Ingerein, SLU. All the winners have received a case of liquors sponsored by La Gaditana and the traditional Carnival Ceramics.

The evening began with the concentration of Street Masks in the vicinity of the Plaza de España, from 7:30 p.m. they filled Carnival Street with joy and color, pranking the naive passers-by by shouting, “Don’t you know me?
