Presentation of the Chirigota “The Mission, the gospel according to Santander”
The councilor for festivities Diego Rodríguez and Fernando Espinosa, representative of the Peña Los Cansaliebres, have presented the inaugural act of the Miguelturra pre-carnival.
Next January 14 from 9:00 p.m. at the Carnival Palace, we will be able to enjoy the COAC 2022 Winning Chirigota, “The Mission, the gospel according to Santander”. The public will be able to access the Carnival Palace starting at 20:30 h.
Both Rodríguez and Espinosa have expressed their satisfaction at the return of this event after the mandatory stoppage caused by the pandemic.
Rodríguez, indicates that it is a first-rate chirigota, which puts us back in the showcase and at the epicenter of carnivals nationwide, thanking the Peña Los Cansaliebres for their involvement with the Miguelturra Carnival and especially with the organization of this event that celebrates its sixth edition. He also wanted to thank the collaboration of the different commercial firms that make this event possible.
Espinosa, has made a brief introduction to the history of this chirigota, whose author and composer was Manolo Santander, who died in 2019. It is currently run by his son Manuel Santander and Carlos Pérez. He also wanted to thank the support of the City Council and the different sponsors and collaborating entities that make this event possible.
