Presentation Programme 2024

All activities for Carnival 2024 now known

On the evening of Thursday 25th January, the extensive programme for Carnival 2024 was unveiled in the Town Hall plenary hall.

At the presentation of the programme, the Councillor for Culture and Festivities, Carmen María Mohíno, was accompanied by the outgoing and incoming Major Masks, as well as the president of the Carnival Peñas Cultural Association, Raúl Domínguez.

The programme will soon be available in PDF format for downloading, as usual.

This year, the carnival starts very early, on the 9th of February when Javier Ruiz will give the opening speech in the Carnival Palace and give free rein to the most emblematic festival of the town and its figure par excellence, the Street Mask.

Mohíno explained all the activities that will be held over these ten intense days, a programme that maintains the structure of events from previous years, many of them with great tradition. The most important new features are the increase in the number of prizes in the National Contest of Piñata Sunday and the change of route, which will be the reverse of previous years.

Another important novelty announced by the president of the Cultural Association of Peñas, is the possibility for mothers and fathers to enter the CERE on the day of the children’s carnival, but in a separate area, separate from the children.

The presentation ended with speeches by the outgoing and incoming Major Masks, inviting people to participate in these festivities, enjoy them and have a great time, hoping that the weather will be fine and that the rain will not make an appearance.
