carnival-miguelturra-proclamation-masks-2022

Starting today, Antonio and Gloria are also members of the Peña of Major Masks, a large family of illustrious carnival men and women.

About 9:00 p.m. At the Carnival Palace, the act of proclamation of Major Masks 2022 began.

After the intervention of the mayor of the town, Laura Arriaga, the new older masks took the stage for the imposition of bands that accredit them as Miguelturra Carnival Masks and the corresponding diplomas, as well as the traditional bouquet of flowers, wine and the commemorative ceramic mask of Carnival.

Members of the Peña La Cabra, to which the new Major Masks belong, came up disguised as Goats to give them a nice souvenir and pay them the appropriate tribute. Previously and on the morning of this same Saturday, members of La Cabra made a visit to Gloria and Antonio’s home, surprising them with an endearing breakfast based on chocolate and churros.

Antonio and Gloria’s family also went on stage at the Carnival Palacel, giving them a wonderful gift, one of their daughters, on behalf of the family, dedicated some nice words to them.

The Major Mask of 2005 Resti Corral and his son were in charge of giving them the traditional hat and apron of the Peña of Major Masks, which they will use on Monday in the fruit in a frying pan contest.

This year our major masks from 1990, José Fernández González and Jovita Merino Díaz-Pinto, renewed their bands that accredit them as Miguelturra Carnival Major Masks.

Antonio and Gloria, congratulations, you are now Major Masks of the Miguelturra Carnival.
