Rocheros in women and Kapikúa in men triumph in the XXXVII edition of Carnival Museum Costumes

Costume Contest Carnival Museum 2023

The Carnival Palace is filled again to witness the XXXVII Carnival Museum Costume Contest. At 8:30 p.m., the local clubs presented their costumes with which they will participate in the Piñata Sunday parade. The winning costumes in the modality of men and women will remain for the next five years in the Carnival Museum ‘MOMO’.

The prizes were the following:

Individual Costume

Prize 200 euros sponsored by Aquilice Cocinas, Mª del Carmen León theme “Thai Dancer”

Woman’s Costume

Prize 400 euros sponsored by Certrade, Peña Los Rocheros, theme “Cabaret Rochero”

Men’s Constume

Prize 400 euros sponsored by the Novelec Group, Peña Kapikúa, theme “The Harley Quinn Squad”

Previously, while the jury was examining the costumes, the prizes for the VII Carnival Window Contest were awarded. This event has led the local businesses to show off the festive and carnival atmosphere that Miguelturra breathes on these dates.

The event has been organized by the Small Business Association and the Miguelturra City Council. The jury made up of Diego Rodríguez, Councilor for Celebrations of the Miguelturra City Council, Julián Arévalo Céspedes, window dresser and Raúl Domínguez, president of the Cultural Association of Peñas del Carnaval, awarded the following prizes:

Best Composition and Design, gift voucher for a trip sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, for La Disfrutería de Alba.

Originality and Innovation, travel gift voucher sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, for Optica Lara.

Special Audience Award, gift voucher to redeem at any small business establishment in Miguelturra, sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, for Ferretería La Plaza.

All the winners received the carnival mask, 30 advertising spots on Radio Miguelturra and an 8 by 11 ad in the BIM for the month of April.
