The Los Rocheros and El Puntillo Peñas triumph in the Carnival Museum Costume Contest, Cesar Lopez in individual

The Carnival Palace fills up again to witness the XXXVI Carnival Museum Costume Contest. At 8:30 p.m., the local Peñas presented their costumes with which they will participate in the Sunday Piñata Parade. The winning costumes in the men’s and women’s categories will remain for the next five years in the Carnival Museum ‘MOMO’.

The prizes were the following:

Individual Costume

Prize 200 euros sponsored by Aquilice Kitchens, César López theme “Tyranitar from Pokemon”

Woman’s Costume

Prize 400 euros sponsored by Certrade, Peña Los Rocheros, theme “The Warrior Princess of Tingambato” 

Men’s Constume

Prize 400 euros Sponsored by the Novelec Group, Peña El Puntillo, theme “The Reign of Calatrava”

Previously, while the jury examined the costumes, the prizes of the VI Carnival Showcase Contest were awarded, this event has led the local businesses to show off the festive and carnival atmosphere that Miguelturra breathes on these dates.

The event has been organized by the Small Business Association and the Miguelturra City Council. The jury made up of Diego Rodríguez, Councilor for Celebrations of the Miguelturra City Council, Valentín Muñoz Rivero, decorator and restorer, and Jesús Muñoz Palmero, secretary of the Miguelturra Carnival Association, awarded the following prizes:

Best Composition and Design, travel gift voucher sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council,  for Óptica Lara.

Originality and Innovation,  bono regalo de viaje patrocinado por el Ayuntamiento de Miguelturra, for Floristería tu Jardín.

Special Audience Award, gift voucher to redeem at any small business establishment in Miguelturra, sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, for Ferretería La Plaza.

All the winners received the carnival mask, 30 advertising spots on Radio Miguelturra and an 8 by 11 ad in the BIM for the month of April.
