The streets of Miguelturra resonated with carnival music, to the rhythm of brass bands and shouts of<em> &#8220;You don&#8217;t know me, do you?&#8221;<\/em> and, in this context, the entire town gathered in the Plaza de Espa\u00f1a to begin a parade to welcome and celebrate <strong>Juan Carlos P\u00e9rez Ram\u00edrez<\/strong> and <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Ruiz Navas<\/strong>, <strong>our beloved Major Masks 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organization of this event, as usual, was the responsibility of the <strong>Pe\u00f1a Los Cansaliebres<\/strong>, who on the twentieth anniversary of their <em>Long live the disaster<\/em>, continue to participate and organize events like this, of great importance within the Churriego carnival.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">PICK-UP AND PARADE<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the procession set off to the rhythm of the brass bands <strong>Alhigu\u00ed<\/strong> and El Buf\u00f3n, making its way along Don Jos\u00e9 Mora Street and Avenida Primero de Mayo until it reached the area around the home of our new <strong>Major Masks<\/strong>: Miguel \u00c1ngel and Juan Carlos. After a first toast there, hundreds of people moved to the <strong>Pe\u00f1a los Cansaliebres<\/strong>, where they enjoyed refreshments before heading to the Carnival Palace, which was completely packed to receive the new Major Masks for their proclamation. The ceremony began with the renewal of the sashes of the Major Masks from <strong>2008<\/strong> to <strong>2013<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">BAND RENEWAL<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event began with the renewal of the sashes, a process that had been underway until now. This process concluded with <strong>Juli\u00e1n Margot\u00f3n Calder\u00f3n and Mar\u00eda Nieves Pat\u00f3n D\u00edaz<\/strong> (2008), <strong>Carmen Fern\u00e1ndez Rold\u00e1n and Miguel Mu\u00f1oz Beldad<\/strong> (2010), <strong>Marcela Naranjo Rivas and Buenaventura Rodr\u00edguez Paredes<\/strong> (2011), <strong>Elisa S\u00e1nchez Peco<\/strong> and the ever-present <strong>Santos Fern\u00e1ndez Moh\u00edno<\/strong> (2012), and <strong>Teresa Nieto Nieto and \u00c1ngel Rodado Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong> (2013). These were emotional moments in which all the carnival participants once again demonstrated their unity and close-knit community. <strong>Petra Dom\u00ednguez Corral<\/strong> and Juli\u00e1n G\u00f3mez Acosta (2009) were absent, but they too received applause from those present.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With municipal and carnival authorities on stage. On one side: <strong>Luis Ram\u00f3n Moh\u00edno<\/strong> (Mayor of Miguelturra), <strong>Carmen Mar\u00eda Moh\u00edno<\/strong> (Councilor for Culture and Festivities), <strong>Cristina L\u00f3pez<\/strong> (National Deputy), <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Garc\u00eda Llorente<\/strong> (Councilor for Tourism), and Juli\u00e1n Margot\u00f3n<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>(Councillor for Family). <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The carnival representation was headed by <strong>Seraf\u00edn Delgado<\/strong> (King of the Carnival), Diego Rodr\u00edguez (President of the Association of Pe\u00f1as), <strong>Alberto Soria<\/strong> (President of the Los Cansaliebres Pe\u00f1a) and the Major Masks of 2025, <strong>Berna Mart\u00ednez and Esther Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most anticipated moment of Saturday had arrived. <strong>Juan Carlos P\u00e9rez Ram\u00edrez<\/strong> and <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Ruiz Navas<\/strong> received their sashes and the certificate recognizing them as the <strong>2026 Major Masks<\/strong>, a title they will hold for the rest of their lives. They also received a commemorative ceramic piece for the 2026 Carnival, a selection of liqueurs, and a surprise from their beloved <strong>Pe\u00f1a &#8220;La Cabra&#8221;<\/strong> (The Goat Pe\u00f1a). <\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">JUAN CARLOS AND MIGUEL \u00c1NGEL, 53RD COUPLE OF MAJOR MASKS OF THE MIGUELTURRA CARNIVAL<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Juan Carlos and Miguel \u00c1ngel have added to the illustrious list of <b><strong>Major Masks<\/strong><\/b> of the Miguelturra Carnival, also joining the carnival group of the same name, which brings together all these great carnival enthusiasts. After receiving the aprons they will wear on Monday at the Frying Pan Fruit Contest, the ceremony concluded with a photo of civil and carnival authorities showing their support for these <strong>2026 Major Masks<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Miguelturra Carnival night didn&#8217;t end there. The <strong>Pentagrama Orchestra<\/strong> at the <strong>Carnival Palace<\/strong> and the <strong>Yesvi Trio<\/strong> at the <strong>Workers&#8217; Center<\/strong> were the two main dance venues, in addition to the many other musical options offered in different parts of the town, with the lively atmosphere of Carnival Street and Doctor Fleming Square being particularly noteworthy. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Miguelturra has once again proven that its carnival is unique. A Festival of National Tourist Interest that welcomed thousands of visitors. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-24jwif8-1b3adde0204df4ecf0b8a7e302cf0926
