Javier Ruiz, head of news at Onda Cero CLM, will be the town crier for 2024.
During the broadcast of Javier Ruiz Martínez’s programme from the Carnival Museum, broadcast in conjunction with Radio Miguelturra on Shrove Tuesday, Diego Rodríguez, councillor for festivities at Miguelturra Town Hall, asked him about his plans for 9 February 2024, proposing that he be the town crier for the 2024 carnival.
Javier Ruiz, very excited, did not hesitate to accept the proposal. It should be remembered that in the morning, Javier received the Alhiguí de Honor of the Carnival 2023 as National Ambassador.
Ruiz Martínez was born in Ciudad Real in 1976 and his career has always been closely linked to Onda Cero. He is head of the news services of Onda Cero Castilla-La Mancha, as well as director and presenter of the programmes Castilla-La Mancha en la Onda and la Brújula de Castilla-La Mancha.
He has also participated in programmes such as La Terraza, Herrera en la Onda and Julia en la Onda.
This is the first time in the history of the Churriego carnival that the next year’s town crier is known during the carnival celebration.
