Rules for the XL Costume Contest “Carnival Museum”
Friday, February 20th at 9:00 PM.
Venue: Carnival Palace (CERE).
- The Peñas de Miguelturra may participate, and the participation of individual masks whether or not representing local and/or provincial companies is also open.
A double modality is established: Man and Woman. - The costumes presented must participate in the Piñata Sunday parade and must be unpublished in Miguelturra, presenting a sworn declaration. If this rule is not met, the prize may be voided, and will go to the next suit in points.
The winning costumes in the men’s and women’s categories will remain the property of the person presenting them, but they will agree to leave the costume for the “Carnival Museum” for 5 years. The winner in the individual modality must stay one year in the museum. - Registration will take place at the contest location moments before the start of the contest.
The prize for the winning costumes will not be awarded until after the Piñata Sunday parade, once the organization observes that in the group of the winning costume, a minimum of 20 people parade with the same design as the winner’s costume. If this rule is not met, the prize may be voided, and will go to the next suit in points.
The winner of the individual costume is exempt from this point as he is not obliged to parade on Sunday. - The jury will be made up of people specialized in the subject, and their decisions will be unappealable, and a prize may be declared void.
Each member of the jury will score according to the following criteria:
Costume evaluation 80% (0 to 8 points)
Makeup 10% (1 point)
Stage presentation 10% (1 point)
For a more thorough examination, the costume evaluation will take place in the dressing rooms before the participants go on stage. Participants must be ready for the review one hour before the start of the competition (at 8:00 p.m.).
Those people and clubs who do not meet the stipulated time will be disqualified and may perform outside of the competition. And its score will be unalterable for the purposes of the other two remaining criteria.
The presentation time on stage may not exceed 5 minutes, and the title and design of the costume will be briefly described, with a detailed written description provided to the jury. - Awards:
