The 4th Cultural Days of the Miguelturra Carnival have come to an end

During the weekend prior to the Carnival celebration, within the framework of the pre-carnival, the IV Cultural Days of the Carnival “Tradition, rite and society” have been developed.

Among the highlights were wine tastings accompanied by informative talks about the Miguelturra Carnival, theatrical tours by the Flauti Flauti group, and lectures held in the anteroom of the Momo Museum. The event also featured the presentation of the book ‘Get to Know Me, Miguelturra Carnival. 40+5 Anniversary of the Association of Carnival Peñas,’ which celebrated the history and role of these groups in the festival’s development.

For the first time, one of the conference sessions was held in Ciudad Real

The conference, which began on January 31st in Ciudad Real at the State Library, featured the participation of specialists such as Julián Rodrigo, Raúl Domínguez, Berna Martínez, José Ramón González, Rafael Sánchez, Julio Espadas, Bernardo Ballesteros, Esmeralda Muñoz, Jordi Ferrús and Lola Muñoz.

The Carnival Museum has expanded its collection thanks to a donation of various publications from Julio Espadas, as well as the addition of Berna Martínez’s updated work, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Association of Carnival Peñas. This publication reinforces the museum’s efforts to preserve and disseminate the historical memory of the Miguelturra Carnival.

The event concludes with extraordinary participation and over 20 hours of programming.
