Sweet Carnival Monday

The Fryiging Pan Fruit Contest begins the carnival activities on Monday

At 12:30 p.m. the beginning of XLI Fruit in a Pan Competition at the CERE facilities, with the presence of the Mayor of Miguelturra , Luis Ramón Mohíno , Councilor for Culture and Celebrations, Carmen María Mohíno and other members of the Municipal Corporation. The carnival authorities were represented by Raúl Domínguez, president of the Cultural Association of Carnival Clubs; the 2023 major masks, Leandro, Charo, José Luis, and Encarni; the 2024 major masks, Rafa and M.ª Luisa; and the 2025 masks, Berna and Esther.

The Peña los Rocheros organized the event, and Octavio Martín passed on the baton and the valuable recipe for his popular lemonade to the group. Onda Cero simultaneously broadcast More than one Ciudad Real live from the Carnival Museum.

All the first prizes have been sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, consisting of 60 euros and the second prizes for ‘El Colmao’ of the town, a batch of typical products valued at 40 euros. They also received a case of liquor sponsored by La Gaditana, the traditional Carnival Ceramics and an apron sponsored by Gate of the Sun.

Throughout the day, the Street Masks will fill Carnaval Street with joy and color, teasing unsuspecting passersby with shouts of What don’t you know me?

Today will also be the turn of the El Puntillo, Major Masks, Ateneo Cultural and La Cabra clubs, who will liven up the streets of Miguelturra with their special event.
