Mª Carmen Céspedes Pastor and Manuel González Beldad will be the major masks of the 2020 Miguelturra Carnival.
On Tuesday, October 29th, the 2020 Major Masks were presented in the Miguelturra Town Hall’s plenary hall: Mª del Carmen Céspedes Pastor and Manuel González Beldad.
The event was attended by the town’s Mayor, Laura Arriaga; the Councilor for Festivities, Diego Rodríguez; the President of the Carnival Peñas Association, Raúl Domínguez; the Carnival King, Serafín Delgado; and the 2019 Major Masks, Mª Paz del Hierro and Antonio Rodrigo.
Laura Arriaga, before the various media attending the event, introduced the next major masks of Carnival 2020, who will represent the entire town of Miguelturra during the next carnival. She encouraged them to enjoy themselves, develop their imagination and originality, bring joy to the streets, wishing them the best from this moment on and above all, that they enjoy these days, which are sure to be unforgettable.
Diego Rodríguez stated that they are two great representatives of our carnival who take the helm after Antonio and Mari Paz, and that being major masks is fun, joyful, exciting, and makes what the Miguelturra Carnival represents shine.
For his part, Raúl Domínguez stated that they are two true carnival fans and that for him they will be a very special couple, since Mª Carmen belongs to his Peña, Los Rocheros, offering them her full support and, of course, that of the Peñas Association.
Pair number 47 of major masks
Carnival King Serafín Delgado reminded us that there will be 47 major masks since 1981, as in the early years, two pairs of major masks were appointed. He stated that, as Carnival King, he will accompany them to all the events of the upcoming Carnival, that they will have a great time. He wished a happy Carnival to both the outgoing and incoming major masks, as well as to all the people of Miguelturra and anyone who wants to enjoy our carnival.
The 2019 major masks, Mª Paz and Antonio, expressed their satisfaction with the appointment of their predecessors, wishing them the best, enjoying every minute and having a wonderful time, and offering their support, just as their predecessors did.
Mª Carmen and Manolo concluded the event by thanking everyone for remembering them, saying they are very much into carnival, hoping to live up to the Miguelturra Carnival and the great masks that have represented it over the years.
Congratulations.
