Bases XXXIX Regional Contest of Murgas, Comparsas and Floats

The Churriego Carnival is coming to an end and the best way to celebrate is with the traditional Murgas, Comparsas and Float Contest

Three categories are established: FLOATS, COMPARSAS and MURGAS, to which the groups must register in advance.

FLOATS: This category includes Peñas or Associations that participate in the parade with one or more floats.

COMPARSAS: This category includes the Peñas or Associations that parade with a marching band, musical group and/or brass band.

MURGAS: This category includes Peñas or Associations that parade without live music or with music

The contest will be governed by the following rules:
  1. Any group that wishes to participate is welcome, provided they have a minimum of 20 people and are from any town in the Castilla-La Mancha region.
  2. The number of entries will be limited to 35, strictly in order of application, except for the clubs and groups that won awards in the 2017 competition, which are automatically registered but must declare their participation. The non-ratification of the same will give place to the supporters clubs that remain in reserve.
  3. Each group must carry a sign in front of them and in a prominent place showing the town they come from and its name.
  4. The rally will take place near Parquesol starting at 4:00 p.m. The parade will follow the following route: Pozuelo, Carretas, Ancha, Carnaval, Spanish Square, and Don José Mora streets, ending near 1st of May Avenue.
  5. Registration, which is free, will be made at the Cultural Center of the Miguelturra City Council, Telephone: 926 241 090, communicating the following information: name of the Association, number of members, name of the representative or spokesperson, ID, address, telephone number and dimensions of the float (if they have one), and category in which they are competing.
  6. The Jury will be composed of a number of individuals of recognized solvency, and their decisions will be final.
  7. No prize may be declared void.
  8. Within each category, special consideration will be given to the float, music, choreography, number of members, and costumes, as well as originality, staging, and aesthetic taste.
  9. All participating groups will receive ham, cheese, a case of “Señorío de los Llanos” wine donated by Distribuidora Hervás, and a 2018 Miguelturra Carnival mask, provided they meet the requirements of point 1.
  10. The awards will be presented at the end of the parade at the Carnival Palace (CERE). It is recommended that at least two members, dressed in costumes from the parade, be present to collect the awards, located in Doctor Fleming Park.
