At the 2021 Miguelturra Carnival, Doña Sardina also stays at home.

The 2021 Miguelturra Carnival will not celebrate the Burial of the Sardine. This will be the first time since its inception in 1982.

Today should be one of the big days of the Miguelturra Carnival with the Burial of the Sardine, since 1982 it has come out without interruption every year.

Organized by Peña la Cabra, it is the most peculiar and pioneering burial in our entire national territory.

In 1982 a group of carnival fans, mostly members of the Peña la Cabra, decided to continue with the carnival party, a box with two sticks was the first coffin of our beloved Lady Sardine.

During these 40 years of celebration, widows and widowers, politicians, kings and even the clergy themselves, led by Pope Kulata, have wanted to pay homage to Lady Sardina year after year.

This year we ran out of our peculiar Burial of the Sardine, but we hope to return in 2022 and fill the streets with joy again.
