Bases XXXVI Contest in Frying Pan Fruit

Monday, March 4th at 12:00 p.m. Organized by the Peña Los Rocheros

  1. Participants can register at the Carnival Palace (CERE) up to half an hour before the competition, which will take place at 12:30 p.m. No person under the age of 18 may register.
  2. To cover the costs, each registered participant will be given 5 euros for flowers, wafers, borrachuelas and rosquillas (2 types) and 10 euros for roscapiña (pineapple pastry), which must have a diameter of at least 25 cm and be presented appropriately at the discretion of the organizers.
  3. Each contestant will present a plate with 6 units of each of the two specialities for which he or she is competing: borrachuelas, flowers, wafers and doughnuts. Only those contestants who attend personally providing name, surname and ID will be admitted, registration through third parties will not be accepted.
  4. The following prizes are awarded:
    1st and 2nd for Roscapiña
    1st and 2nd for Flores
    1st and 2nd for Barquillos
    1st and 2nd for Rosquillas
    1st and 2nd for Borrachuelas

    First prizes will receive 60 euros sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council.
    Second prizes will be sponsored by the local “El Colmao” with a batch of traditional products, valued at 40 euros each.
    All winners will receive a Carnival ceramic and a case of liqueurs sponsored by “La Gaditana.”

  5. Once the contest is over and the prizes have been awarded, everyone in attendance will be treated to a tasting of the contest products and a delicious lemonade from our friend Octavio.
  6. The pieces must be brought home-made, presentation and tasting will be rewarded.
  7. To participate you must prove the age of majority.
