Francisco José Arévalo Ramos receives his award as winner at the Casa de Capellanía
The afternoon of Friday, April 24th, was the day chosen for the presentation of the awards for the XXVII Photography Contest of the Miguelturra Carnival.
The event was attended by Caridad Sánchez Ruiz, councilor for citizen participation; Diego Rodríguez Tercero, president of the Association of Peñas; the 2026 Senior Masks, Miguel Ángel Ruiz Navas and Juan Carlos Pérez Ramírez; as well as the 2025 Exemplary Churriegos, Ángela Mohíno Toulet and Francisco Angulo Sánchez.
Caridad Sánchez began the event by reading the minutes and announcing the jury’s decision for the photography contest. The contest awards two prizes of 300 and 200 euros, as well as the corresponding ceramic piece commemorating the 2026 carnival. The prizes were awarded as follows: First prize to Francisco José Arévalo Ramos and second prize to Carlos Jesús Muñoz Palacios. Mr. Muñoz Palacios was unable to attend as he could not be reached.

Caridad Sánchez congratulated the winners, highlighting the quality of the works submitted to the competition, and encouraging photography enthusiasts to participate in this contest, which offers substantial cash prizes.
The winner of the competition, Francisco Arévalo, was very pleased to receive this prize, inviting the rest of the photographers who visit us during the carnival to participate and immortalize this emblematic festival with their photos.
