A carnival Sunday for the little ones and for all ages

Diana, hot chocolate, and a children’s carnival on the morning of Carnival Sunday. The day continues with meals at peñas (social clubs), a masked party, masked volleyball, a mask gathering, and carnival dances.

Sunday, February 15th, was a day filled with color and music at the Miguelturra Carnival. The day began to the rhythm of the traditional carnival reveille by the Peña El Jamón, who have been bringing the town of Miguelturra to life for over fifty years as they parade through the streets. Meanwhile, in the Spanish Square, the Peña Los Maltrataos prepared their traditional hot chocolate and sweets.

As the clock struck noon, one of the most anticipated moments for the youngest carnival-goers arrived. The Children’s Carnival shone once again on a sunny and joyful morning, reinforcing the idea that this event is now a classic of our carnival. The boys and girls of Miguelturra paraded through the town’s streets until they reached the Carnival Palace. The event was organized once again by the El Bufón Association. Starting at 1:00 PM, they enjoyed a children’s show in a packed Carnival Palace.

THE PROGRAMMING CONTINUES THIS CARNIVAL SUNDAY

But the festivities don’t end there. This Sunday afternoon, we’ll have another edition of masked volleyball, as well as children’s workshops. All of this will take place near the Carnival Palace, where the masked party will be held. In addition, at 6:00 PM there will be a gathering of street mask costumes, and as night falls, the dancing will return to the Carnival Palace and the Workers’ Center.

The clubs celebrate their themed day

Furthermore, the carnival groups begin celebrating their special day within this 2026 Carnival. Los Cansaliebres, Rocheros, Kapikúa, Maltrataos, Charanga Alhiguí, and Barón Amarillo are having their big day today. Without a doubt, today is a highly recommended day to immerse yourself in the best carnival in the world by strolling through the streets of Miguelturra, where we celebrate our beloved Festival of National Tourist Interest.
