Bases XXII Photography Contest
It’s time to immortalize the most important moments of Carnival
- Anyone who wants to can participate, whatever their age or place of residence.
- Each participant may submit a maximum of three color or black and white photographs measuring 20×30 or 30×45 cm.
- Photographs must only capture activities carried out in Miguelturra during the 2020 Carnival period.
- Special consideration will be given to works that highlight the characteristics of the traditional Miguelturra carnival, with particular emphasis on the Street Mask. The technical and artistic quality of the works will be valued equally.
- The photographs will be presented on a white cardboard backing measuring 5 cm on each side, with a slogan on the back and a separate envelope containing the author’s personal information. TInitially, submissions may only be made in digital format. If selected, they must also be submitted as indicated above, within 7 days of notification of selection.
If submitted in digital format, the title of the submitted works must be the file name. A PDF file with the author’s information must be attached to the same email and sent to the following address: cultura@ayto-miguelturra.es. Prizes, three prizes are established:
1st Prize: 250 euros and ceramics from the carnival, sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council.
2nd Prize: 175 euros and Carnival Ceramics, sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council.
3rd Prize: 80 euro voucher sponsored and redeemable for a photo shoot at Katy Aranda Photography and Carnival Ceramics.- Said prizes may be declared void. No author may accumulate more than one prize.
- RAW Photographic Collective collaborates.
- The organization will be able to hold a subsequent exhibition of the submitted works at the new Municipal Library “Casa de Capellanía” and display them on the website.
- The jury will be made up of people of recognized solvency and its decision will be final.
- The winning works will pass to the power of the organization that may, if it deems it appropriate, edit the work, without the author having acquired rights.
- Non-winning entries may be submitted until May 30, 2020. The works not withdrawn will become part of the archive of the Department of Culture.
- Submission Deadline: Photographs may be submitted by hand during business hours or sent to the Miguelturra Cultural Center, located at: C/ Perlerines, 26, 13170 Miguelturra, Telephone: 926241090, until April 10, 2020. The decision will be made before April 30, 2020.
- The Miguelturra City Council will take the utmost care of the works submitted to the competition, but is not responsible for any damage or theft.
- The mere fact of participating in the contest means compliance with these rules.
