José Luís Rivas Arévalo and Leandro Arévalo López, known as Chato and Rayo respectively, are two friends who have been intensely involved in the Miguelturra Carnival for many years, and have been a carnival couple since 1983.

We spent a great evening with them, sharing anecdotes and laughter. Accompanied by Encarni and Charo, they told us about their carnival adventures, even with the local police and civil guard, always with great humor and respect.

They have dressed up as brewers of a well-known brand, as police officers, as Snow White and the Dwarf, as TV clowns, as somewhat cheerful widows, they have made parodies of celebrities such as Pantoja, the Duchess of Alba, members of the Royal House Spanish and English, chefs with the occasional star and endless characterizations, each more fun and inventive.

Will they ever be the Major Masks of the Miguelturra Carnival?
