2025 Showcase Competition Rules

It’s time to mask Miguelturra’s shop windows.

The IX Edition of the Miguelturra Carnival 2025 Window Display Contest is underway.

Rules

  1. The Department of Economic Promotion and the Cultural Association Peñas de Carnaval, call the ninth edition of the Carnival Window Contest for commercial establishments in our town, in order to encourage and reward establishments that contribute to creating a carnival atmosphere during these dates by decorating their shop windows.
  2. All retail and wholesale commercial establishments in Miguelturra and all those establishments that have a showcase, such as an office and training center, among others, may participate in the contest.
  3. Registration for the contest will be free, and must be done at the House of Culture of Miguelturra. The registration period will be from February 10 to 23, 2025.
  4. The business must have its shop window ready from February 24th until Sunday, March 9th, 2025.
  5. The jury appointed by the organization will visit the participating businesses during the period established in the previous base and will announce their verdict through the municipal web portal, publishing the names of the winning businesses.
    The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, March 7 at 9:00 p.m. at the CERE.
    The jury’s decision will be final.
  6. Three prizes sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council will be awarded, valued at 100 euros each, although one may be left unawarded if the jury deems it appropriate:

    – Award for originality and innovation. Travel Gift Voucher, redeemable at Viajes Rodrigo.
    – Traditional Design and Composition Award. Travel Gift Voucher, redeemable at Viajes Rodrigo.
    – Special Audience Award. Travel Gift Voucher, redeemable at any establishment participating in the contest.   

    All prizes will consist of 30 advertising spots on Radio Miguelturra, a carnival ceramic and a diploma.
    For the special public award, a ballot box will be available at the House of Culture from February 25th to March 6th, where anyone who wishes to participate can cast their vote.
    All those who cast their vote in the ballot box will be entered into a draw for three shopping vouchers, each worth 100 euros, sponsored by Viajes Rodrigo and redeemable at Viajes Rodrigo.
    The draw will be held at the awards ceremony on March 7 at the CERE.

  7. The winning establishments will be notified by telephone and will be made public through the municipal media. The prizes are not accumulative.
  8. Participation in the contest implies acceptance of these rule.
