On the night of Saturday, January 25, the Churriego Pre-Carnival began at the Carnival Palace.

Organized by the Peña Los Cansaliebres and sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, Onda Cero, and Toyota Ciudad Real, the Miguelturra Pre-Carnival has begun. For the occasion, the Sevillian chirigota from San José de la Rinconada, “The Cake” led by Antonio Álvarez Cordero and directed by Ernesto Javier Urmeneta Montiel, was chosen.

A full house at the Carnival Palace again

Once again, the Carnival Palace was packed. This time to enjoy the chirigota that won fourth place at the 2023 Cádiz COAC with My Soul. A full repertoire comprised of their performance at the 2024 Cádiz competition with “The Last One and We’re Going” and the best of Antonio Álvarez ‘The Cake’ repertoire.

Both the Miguelturra Town Hall and the Peña Los Cansaliebres thanked the chirigota for their visit and gave them a commemorative ceramic of the Miguelturra Carnival.
