III Cultural Days of the Miguelturra Carnival

Conferences, live cooking, tastings with history, workshops and dramatized visits

To the eleven days that our carnival lasts this year, we add a week of Pre-Carnival with cultural days

Francisco Manuel Peco, director of the events, and Carmen María Mohíno, Councilor for Celebrations, presented the events that include a varied menu of activities prior to the carnival.

The III Carnival Cultural Days will have two different spaces, the tastings with history that will be held on February 18, 19 and 20, in the Taskarnaval tavern with the title ‘Between masks and vineyards, the taste of the history of carnival’ and the days on February 21, 22 and 23, with the Carnival Palace being the main setting for them.

The tastings will consist of four tapas, accompanied by wines related to each of the carnival stories and priced at 14 euros.

The conference begins on Friday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m. with the reception of participants and a visit to the Carnival Museum.

At 6:00 p.m., opening and conference by the director of the conference with the title ‘Carnivals in the province of Ciudad Real’, followed by Eduardo Manuel García with a talk about the Almadén carnival. Once the talk is over, it will be the turn of the debate table titled ‘Mask, joke and satire today’, ending the first day with the theatrical visit of Flauti Flauti Teatro at 8:30 p.m.

Starting at 12:30 p.m. we will have a children’s street mask workshop led by Flauti Flauti Teatro and a frying pan fruit master class led by Rita Gómez.
