Carnival doesn’t stop for a single day in Miguelturra and our beloved Carnival Palace was once again packed to the rafters on Thursday night to enjoy Your Mask Sound Familiar, a contest that is now in its 13th edition.

It was past 8:30 pm and the event began with the awarding of prizes for the 10th Carnival Shop Window Contest and the 1st Carnival Balcony and Façade Contest.

Following these awards, the main event of this Carnival Thursday began, once again brilliantly organized by the Peña el Puntillo. Imitations of characters from Hercules, Isabel Aaiún, Estopa and Azúcar Moreno were the highlights of this Carnival night.

In 2026, the jury was composed of Ana Isabel de Toro and M.ª Carmen Rodríguez (Flauti Flauti Teatro) and Estrella Domínguez (member of the musical group Esencial).

This competition is divided into four categories: Children-Youth, Individual Adults, Adult Duos, and Adult Groups, with prizes as follows:

CHILDREN’S-YOUTH CATEGORY

• 1st Prize: Orestes Molina with Tommy Cash.
• 2nd Prize: Nagore Cañete with Lucía Puerta.
• 3rd Prize: Elena, Elsa and Olivia with K-Pop Demon Hunters.
• Certificate of participation: Alonso with El Fary.

Prize: three vouchers for school supplies valued at €50, sponsored by MyPaper.

ADULT CATEGORY

INDIVIDUAL

• 1st Prize, sponsored by Panadería Fegopan, €150: Carmen Corral for her impersonation of Isabel Aaiun.
• 2nd Prize, sponsored by Electro Chaplin, €100: Valentina Luna for her impersonation of Nathy Peluso
• 3rd Prize, €75: Míriam Fernández for her impersonation of Rocío Jurado.

DUO

• 1st Prize, sponsored by Miguelturra Town Council, €175: Juan and Tamara, with Estopa.
• 2nd Prize, sponsored by Óptica Lara, €125: María and Sara with Azúcar Moreno.
• 3rd Prize, sponsored by Taberna Taskarnaval, €100: Miriam and María Luisa for their impersonation of Sonia and Selena.
