Summer Carnival 2025

The Cansaliebres Chirigota, lots of heat and dabadabaaaa duuuu at the 2025 Summer Carnival

On Saturday, June 14th, the 6th Summer Carnival was celebrated with great success in Miguelturra. This year’s event is being held in collaboration with the Taskarnaval Tavern and, as usual, organized by the Department of Culture and Festivities, together with the Carnival Peñas Association.

Starting at 12:00 noon, those who wanted to see the Cansaliebres chirigota and its anthology began gathering in the Plaza de la Constitución.

Under a blazing sun, the Cansaliebres began their performance. The local chirigota performed a repertoire of recent years, delighting the audience with their good humor.

Gathering and parade towards the fairgrounds

Starting at 7:00 p.m., a large number of costumed people and carnival groups gathered in front of the Town Hall entrance to begin the traditional parade toward the fairgrounds.

The event was also attended by institutional and carnival authorities, with the presence of the Mayor of the town, Luis Ramón Mohíno, Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Carmen María Mohíno and members of the Municipal Corporation, the president of the Association of Peñas, Raúl Donate Domínguez and Major Masks from 2022 to 2025, Antonio, Gloria, Encarni, Charo, José Luis, Leandro, Esther and Berna.

A delegation from our sister carnival in Tarazona de la Mancha also didn’t want to miss this summer event.

An already established event that once again fills the fairgrounds with color and joy.

Our Major masks, with joy and aplomb, led the parade in their log-mobile, dressed as Flintstones. The girls were dressed as Vilmas and the boys as Pedros, dancing to the rhythm of the local brass bands toward the fairgrounds, shouting “Davadaba duuuu.”

A great afternoon and evening, which left us with a splendid temperature at night, allowing us to enjoy the Cadiz orchestra Alldara Show starting at 11:00 p.m.

This great carnival night was closed in the early hours by DJ ‘Juan Spartan’.
