Summer Carnival 2025 Presentation
The Chirigota de los Cansaliebres and the Taberna Taskarnaval come with new morning shows.
On Monday afternoon, the activities for the sixth edition of the Summer Carnival were presented in the plenary hall of Miguelturra Town Hall.
Carmen María Mohíno, Councilor for Culture and Celebrations, presided over the presentation, accompanied by the president of the Peñas Association, Raúl Domínguez; the manager of the Taskarnaval Tavern, Montse Rivas; Carnival King, Serafín Delgado; and the 2025 Major Masks, Berna Martínez and Esther Martínez.
Mohíno presented the activities of this new edition of the Churriego Summer Carnival, which will start at 12:00 p.m. and run until 7:00 p.m. at the Taskarnaval Tavern with the Summer Beer Carnival Challenge and the motto: When Miguelturra dresses up, even the beer dances!
Starting at 12:30 p.m., the Constitution Square will host the Los Cansaliebres Chirigota Anthology, and throughout the morning, our bands will liven up the town’s central streets.
Starting at 7:00 p.m., the Summer Masks will gather, followed by a parade toward the fairgrounds to the rhythm of local brass bands.
At 11:00 p.m., the Cadiz-based orchestra ‘Alldara Show’ will perform, and DJ ‘Juan Spartan’ will keep the party going until 6:00 a.m.
Carmen María Mohíno concluded her speech by thanking the Peñas Association for its involvement, the efforts of the municipal workers, and the Taskarnaval Tavern for its initiative and collaboration in the Summer Carnival activities.
Responsibility, respect and celebrating it with great joy
The president of the Peñas Association, Raúl Domínguez, also wanted to thank all the peñas for their involvement in this Summer Carnival, a festival that was launched to celebrate the Festival’s Declaration of National Tourist Interest and establish itself as a regular event in the churriegos’ and churriegas’ calendar.
He also expressed his gratitude to Taskarnaval and the Peña Los Cansaliebres, concluding his remarks by urging people to show civility and enjoy cool costumes during this summer carnival.
Montse Rivas, manager of the Taskarnaval Tavern, thanked the Clubs Association and the City Council for their involvement in making her event possible. She urged people to be responsible when consuming alcohol and hoped everyone would enjoy this Summer Carnival.
The presentation ceremony concluded with speeches by Carnival King Serafín Delgad and the 2025 Major Masks, Berna Martínez and Esther Martínez, who wished them a pleasant weather and a respectful and joyful celebration.
