The second Saturday of the Miguelturra Carnival brought us one of the most anticipated events in the final stretch of the carnival. The 9th Drag Queen Gala filled the Carnival Palace with a packed audience and allowed us to enjoy a wealth of artistry on stage. This event, organized by the Peña El Puntillo, is sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council.

This time, we enjoyed four contestants and two more performances outside the competition. The night kicked off to the rhythm of Soberbia Malibú, a member of this year’s jury who spread art and joy from the stage to the back rows.

Already in the competition, we had Lady Cringe and Xema Lakrín in a truly high-class first half. After a central act by Paca Merino, also out of competition, the show continued to the rhythm of Los Turkish and Drag Karola, setting the bar high and requiring all the hard work of a jury that was dedicated throughout the night.

The Carnival Palace continued to be packed while the awards ceremony was awaited, with more out-of-competition performances, including one by the Peña El Puntillo, who so lovingly prepare this gala.

The carnival authorities were represented extensively, including Serafín Delgado, Carnival King; Berna and Esther as 2025 Major Masks; and Rafa and M.ª Luisa as 2024 Major Masks. Also present were Raúl Domínguez, President of the Association of Peñas, and the Councilor for Festivals, Carmen María Mohíno.

Awards

• 1st Prize of 1,000 euros, carnival ceramics and a band, for Los Turkish.
• 2nd Prize of 800 euros and a sash, for Xema Lakrín.
• 3rd Prize of 500 euros and a sash, for Drag Karola.
