The Carnival Palace was once again packed on Carnival Thursday night to enjoy the 12th edition of the Your Mask Sounds Familiar contest.

At 8:30 p.m., the event, organized for another year by the Peña el Puntillo, began. Impersonators of the likes of Las Grecas, Georgie Dann, Antonio Orozco, and Lola Índigo were to be enjoyed on this carnival night.

A jury that in this edition was composed of Mercedes Espinosa and Tamara Arenas (TaconArte), Ana Isabel de Toro and Mª Carmen Rodríguez (Flauti Flauti Theater) and Estrella Domínguez.

This competition is divided into four categories: Children-Youth, Individual Adults, Adult Duos, and Adult Groups, with prizes as follows:

INFANT-YOUTH CATEGORY

• 1st Prize: Orestes Molina with Coco.
• 2nd Prize: Nagore García with Lola Índigo
• 3rd Prize: Carla Arroyo with Lola Índigo.

Prize: three vouchers for school supplies valued at €50, sponsored by MyPaper.

INDIVIDUAL ADULT CATEGORY

• 1st Prize, sponsored by Fegopan Bakery, €150: Miriam Fernández for her imitation of Alejandro Fernández.
• 2nd Prize, sponsored by Electro Chaplin, €100: Iván del Río for his imitation of Antonio Orozco.

ADULT DUO CATEGORY

• 1st Prize sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, €175: Miriam Sánchez and Carlos Rodrigo, with Channel and Abraham.
• 2nd Prize sponsored by the Miguelturra City Council, €125: Elena Donate and Casimiro Donate with “Eat My Donut”.
• 3rd Prize sponsored by Taskarnaval Tavern, €100: Iván Molina and Tamara Navarro for their imitation of Las Grecas.

ADULT GROUPS CATEGORY

• 1st Prize sponsored by Spartan Gym, €200: Ciruelín for his imitation of George Dann with “The Barbecue”.

The awards ceremony was attended by the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Carmen María Mohíno, president of the Cultural Association of Peñas, Raúl Domínguez, carnival king Serafín Delgado, major masks 2024, Rafa and M.ª Luisa, major masks 2025, Berna and Esther, as well as representatives of the sponsors, Spartan Gym, Taskarnaval Tavern, MyPaper, Fegopan Bakery and Electro Chaplin.
