Communiqué Association of Peñas of the Carnival of Miguelturra

“Long live the Carnival of Miguelturra”

Today should have been the day, the day on which the most important representatives of Carnival 2021, our Senior Masks, would have been presented. Today should also have been the day we gathered to finish our costumes, cars, stoves… Finally, today should have been the day when all of us Churriegos would have that tingling in our stomachs that we all know as we prepare our best clothes for what next Friday should have been OUR CARNIVAL.

A responsible carnival

This year should have been different, a year of celebration as the Peñas Association turns 40, and in which we should have thanked all the people, boards of directors, and clubs that have been part of our association over the years. But not only we have birthdays, so do two of the usual clubs, the ones that have made and make our carnival great: “Los Segadores” Peña and the “La Cabra” Peña, happy 40 years.

But this won’t be a normal year. This year, we have to be consistent with the situation we’ve been through. From the Peñas Association, we’re asking you for something we never thought we’d say: stay home. We have to respect the rules imposed by our authorities and think that with this effort Carnival 2022 will be a much better Carnival for everyone.

This year more than ever:
“There’s no place like home.”
