Miguelturra is filled with masks during the XV “La Churriega” Mask Race

Hundreds of costumed residents of Miguelturra ran through the town’s streets for the 15th annual La Churriega mask race. This non-competitive event was once again organized by the Miguelturra Long-Distance Runners Association.

From 5:00 p.m. onwards, numerous groups of street masked performers gathered in Dr. Fleming Square, and shortly afterwards they paraded along a circuit that was musically accompanied by the rhythm of the Charanga Kata Pum Chinpum band.

Representatives from the Miguelturra City Council and carnival authorities were present, headed by Miguel Ángel and Juan Carlos (Major Masks 2026), Berna and Esther (Major Masks 2025) and Diego Rodríguez (President of the Cultural Association of Peñas).

A CIRCUIT PREPARED FOR THE OCCASION

The circuit started in the vicinity of the Carnival Palace, passing through Doctor Fleming Park, Pradillo de Clavería, Cervantes Street, Constiturion Square, Spain Square, Germán Marina, Pradillo de Clavería and Doctor Fleming Park to finish again next to the Carnival Palace.
